5 AI Visibility Tools to Track Your Brand Across LLMs

Leigh McKenzie

Written by Leigh McKenzie

LLM Tracking Tools – Featured image

LLMs like ChatGPT and Gemini are quickly becoming the first place people turn when researching brands, products, and services.

The challenge is that most companies still have no real visibility into how they appear inside these answers.

That blind spot is growing. AI responses shape perception long before someone reaches your site.

And the early data is clear. Backlinko still brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors from organic search…

Domain Overview – Backlinko – Organic Traffic

But LLM-driven traffic is up 800% year-over-year. And accelerating.

Backlinko LLM Traffic

This is why AI visibility matters. It is no longer about traffic alone. It is about presence, accuracy, and how your brand is positioned inside the systems people trust for answers.

To stay ahead, you need the right tools.

I’ve tested more than a dozen LLM tracking platforms across enterprise solutions and newer entrants.

Not all of them are fully mature, and I don’t know which ones will survive in the long run, but each one highlights a different direction the market is moving.

Here are the five that stand out right now.

What to Look For in an LLM Tracking Tool

A lot of LLM tracking tools look impressive at first glance. Once you dig in, many fall short.

The most common issues are fragile scraping setups, limited coverage, or dashboards that look polished but fail to surface the insights that actually matter.

Here’s what to consider:

  • Real scale: Thousands of prompts. From the UI, not just the APIs. Otherwise, you miss key results (like tables and maps).
  • Multi-engine coverage: ChatGPT is table stakes. Top tools also track Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, and Copilot.
  • Actionable insights: Breakdowns by model, topic, sentiment. Bonus if it flags missed opportunities and quick wins.
  • Roadmap momentum: Is the team shipping fast? If not, skip it.
  • Global support: Need multi-language prompts or market-level insights? Not all tools can do it.
  • Enterprise-ready: Solid support. Clean data policies. And a team that’s leading the space, not chasing it.

1. Semrush

Semrush is the only platform in this list that treats AI visibility and SEO visibility as one system.

And I think it’s the right approach: if you want to understand why ChatGPT or Google AI Mode describes your brand the way it does, you can’t isolate LLM results from the web signals those models rely on.

That’s why Semrush now offers three ways to work with AI search data — each with a different level of depth:

AI Visibility Toolkit

Who it’s for: anyone actively doing SEO or content marketing — which, realistically, is every brand with a website.

Pricing: starts at $99/month per domain

The Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is the fastest way to see how your brand shows up across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Perplexity.

You can pull from Semrush’s AI search database (130M+ prompts across eight regions) to check which prompts already include your brand and start tracking the ones that matter.

Daily tracking (25 prompts) makes it easy to spot changes, wins, and gaps.

My favorite feature is the Brand Performance Report. It gives you a clear snapshot of your Share of Voice, sentiment, and the exact domains and URLs LLMs pull from when talking about your brand.

If you want a single view that explains where you appear, where you don’t, and why, this is it.

Semrush One

Who it’s for: teams that need both traditional SEO data and AI search visibility in one workflow.

Pricing: starts at $199/month.

Semrush One bundles the full SEO Toolkit with the AI Visibility Toolkit, which is the setup most marketers should be using in 2025. You get keyword data, backlink intelligence, competitive research, content optimization, technical audits, and AI visibility all connected in a single environment.

This lets you understand not just how AI tools talk about your brand, but the web signals behind those answers.

If you want one subscription that covers search end-to-end, this is the most complete option.

Enterprise AIO

Who it’s for: companies managing multiple brands, large sites, multiple regions, or internal reporting requirements.

Pricing: custom.

Semrush Enterprise AIO is the most advanced version of Semrush’s AI search data. It supports large-scale prompt tracking (hundreds or thousands across all major LLMs), multi-brand reporting, regional segmentation, and API integrations for internal dashboards. It’s built for teams that need accuracy, history, and control — not just insights.

For agencies, it’s the simplest way to run AI visibility programs across dozens of client sites from one place. If you need enterprise-grade depth or you’re managing visibility at scale, this is the solution.

Semrush AIO – Backlinko – AIO Overview

Yes, it’s on the more expensive side.

But it’s also the most complete product on the market right now for tracking brands across LLMs.

Why? Because Semrush has something most others don’t: infrastructure and scale.

They’ve spent over a decade building one of the most robust search visibility platforms, and now they’re applying that to AI.

My favorite feature is the Competitor Rankings and Market Analysis. Once you have your prompts and categories dialed in, you get a detailed view of your visibility across every LLM you track.

Semrush AIO – Backlinko – Competitor Rankings

You can then hone your strategy by focusing on the top-performing source domains and specific URLs.

2. Profound

Profound is one of the more interesting new companies in the space right now.

Profound – Semrush – Platforms

They launched in 2024 and in June 2025 raised a $20M seed round to go all-in on AI search.

The product looks cool. It feels fast. And they’re shipping often.

Prompt-level insights, platform-by-platform visibility, crawl logs. There’s a lot to like.

Profound – Prompt Analysis

But one thing to watch: Profound is still new.

They don’t have the infrastructure depth or long-term stability of the more established players. If you’re drawn to velocity, it’s compelling. If you’re evaluating long-term reliability, it’s something to keep in mind.

So while the pace of innovation is impressive, the long-term durability is something to keep in mind.

I’ll add one observation from a recent event. The presenter stood on stage in front of a slide titled “Proof of Consciousness,” tying that idea to ChatGPT recommending more brands. It was memorable, but not for the reasons they intended.

A lot of companies in this space are reaching for big, existential narratives, and it’s easy for the marketing to outpace the mechanics of how LLMs actually surface brands. Worth keeping an eye on.

Plans & Pricing

  • Starter ($99/month): ChatGPT-only, 50 prompts.
  • Growth ($399/month): 3 engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews), 200+ prompts, basic content tools.
  • Enterprise (custom): Up to 10 engines, multi-company tracking, custom prompt plans, SSO/SOC2, dedicated Slack support.

Coverage varies by tier, which is worth noting. Starter is ChatGPT-only. Growth adds Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise unlocks Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek, and Claude.

ZipTie – Petlibro – Overview

There’s no bloat, no complex setup, and no sales process. You just plug in your brand and get visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews.

It’s not built for teams that want deep prompt logic or workflow integrations.

ZipTie – Petlibro – Queries

But if you want fast answers, clean dashboards, and a dead-simple way to check how your brand is showing up in AI search, ZipTie gets the job done.

Great for early-stage teams or solo operators who want signal without complexity.

5. Gumshoe.AI

Gumshoe AI takes a different approach from every other tool on this list. Instead of starting with prompts, it starts with personas — real roles, goals, and pain points — and reverse-engineers the kinds of questions those people are likely to ask inside AI search tools.

Gumshoe – Backlinko – Report

But its approach? I’m super interested.

Unlike tools that start with prompts, Gumshoe starts with personas.

You define your audience — their roles, goals, and pain points — and Gumshoe reverse-engineers the kinds of prompts they’re likely to ask across AI chat tools.

The project setup flow is what really stands out.

You start by verifying your brand positioning. Then you choose one analysis focus area — usually your clearest product or service.

From there, Gumshoe builds a list of rich, realistic target personas. Not fluffy archetypes like “SaaS Sally” or “Paul the Plumber” — actual roles with meaningful intent.

Gumshoe – Personas

Then it generates detailed, relevant prompts based on those personas and associated topic clusters.

This is (early-stage) structured AI search research, tied directly to how your audience thinks and searches.

Gumshoe – Brand Reach

Plans & Pricing

  • Free: 3 report runs, baseline visibility, persona insights, visibility across models.
  • Pay as You Go: $0.10 per conversation run. Includes scheduled reports, tracked trends, optimization recommendations, and AI-assisted content generation.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing with volume discounts, dedicated success manager, and API/integration support.

LLMs Covered

Perplexity AI Sonar, Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, OpenAI 4o Mini, Anthropic Claude 3.5

Key Capabilities

  • Persona-based prompt generation and tracking
  • Visibility scoring by persona, topic, and LLM
  • Citation source tracking across answers
  • Topic visibility matrix for how your brand is mentioned by each persona for a given topic

Whichever Tool You Choose, Just Start Tracking

Whether you’re measuring it or not, users are discovering your competitors through AI interactions — often thanks to strategic content seeding you’ll never see in analytics.

So, it’s a good idea to have your finger on the pulse.

To get started, pick one tool, add 3-5 competitors, and track 10+ prompts about your products/services for 30 days. You’ll start seeing where you have opportunities.

Don’t expect overnight changes. This is like early-stage SEO — you’re building a foundation for long-term authority.
