Why Use a Press Release Template?
Public relations is one of the oldest, most effective marketing channels in the world. Press coverage can lead to more traffic to your site, more credibility for your brand, and opportunities you’d never get without it.
And press releases are an incredibly important part of the process.
Don’t get me wrong.
A single press release isn’t going to transform your business. But over time, they can make a HUGE difference.

How to Get Maximum Value from Your Press Release
Using a good template will help make your press release stand out. But a press release is not a guaranteed marketing tool. Successful publicity depends on dozens of different factors (including luck). Here are a few tips to help:
- Use a quality distribution service. I use Newswire. But if your budget is really tight, you can also check out eReleases or PRWeb.
- Include good-looking multimedia in your release to make it stand out. These can be screenshots, photos, illustrations, charts, videos, etc. Anything a journalist or blogger might use in their coverage. Quotes and statistics help with this, too — and they also make your release more trustworthy.
- Proofread your work, then have someone else proof it. This is important because you can’t edit press releases on the fly after publishing. (At least not easily.) I like to read my copy out loud to see how it sounds.
- Schedule your press release to go out at an odd time, like 1:24pm. This will help it stand out, since most releases are published exactly on the hour.
